The 10 Post Types That Sell a Song (Rotate These Forever)

    The problem this solves

You have one song and four weeks of posting to fill. The answer isn't more songs, it's more angles. These 10 post types rotate forever, and the same track feeds all of them.

    1. 'This is for...' posts

Make the song feel personal. Caption directions: 'this is for anyone who feels calm in chaos', 'who overthinks everything', 'who disappears when life gets heavy', 'who turns pressure into noise', 'who feels everything too intensely'. People share what describes them.

    2. The hook clip (most important post type)

Best 5-10 seconds only. No intro, no slow build. Best sections: the drop, a vocal chop, the pre-drop phrase, a bass switch, a weird sound design moment, or the most emotional melodic moment. Goal: find the section people want to hear again.

    3. Casual performance

Not a music video. You in the studio, in the car, in a hallway, at a venue, walking through the city, or just listening back. Show the artist and the emotion without overproducing it.

    4. Same song, different worlds

    • Bedroom: personal, intimate energy.
    • Car: late-night drive.
    • Streetlight: lonely, night.
    • Concrete hallway: industrial, underground.
    • Venue: live, DJ energy.
    • Studio: producer credibility.
    • Visualizer: clean, repeatable asset.
    • Rooftop: cinematic scale.
    • Parking garage: dark, rave.
    • This is how one song becomes 10 posts without feeling like the same post.

    5. Emotional text on screen

Even without clear lyrics, use text overlays that match the feeling: pressure, chaos, escapism, nightlife, anxiety, confidence, obsession, losing control, rave energy, underground energy. People repost things that describe them.

    6. 'Should I...?' interactive posts

Pre-release: should I drop this? Should this be the next one? Is this too weird to release? Should I send this to DJs? Post-release: should I make a VIP? Drop the harder version? Release the extended mix? Play this in my next set? Goal: make people feel involved.

    7. 'This sounds like...' posts

Formula: 'this sounds like' plus a specific visual or emotional world. Directions: warehouse, concrete, 3am, rave, boss fight, panic, smoke, motion, underground, bad decisions, system overload. Gives people a way to understand the song fast.

    8. Identity posts

Posts people share because it feels like them: for producers, for ravers, for people who feel too much, for people who like darker music, for people who live for underground shows. The goal isn't 'listen to my song', it's 'this post says something about me'.

    9. Pattern interrupt

Something unexpected that stops the scroll: a heavy drop over a calm visual, a quiet shot before a disgusting drop, drone crash footage, a still shot with chaotic audio, a beautiful visual with aggressive bass.

    10. The flex (editorial / DJ / platform)

Use real traction as content: playlist or editorial adds, DJ support, a bigger artist co-signing, repost network traction, a creator using the sound. Format: screenshot or clip + short caption + song underneath + tag the relevant account. Keep it clean and let the proof speak. Momentum, not bragging.

    Platform cheat codes

    • Instagram = polished. Artwork, reels, carousels, flexes.
    • TikTok = raw. Hook testing, 'should I' posts, weird and casual moments.
    • Shorts = repost every strong TikTok or Reel there.
    • Stories = links, polls, reposts, countdowns. Daily during release week.
    • Announcement carousel: cover art, then title + artists, then date, then short context, then presave CTA. No fake hype.
